For five weeks starting on the 6th of June 2017, Victoria joins the festival cities of the world, with artistes and ensembles from all over the world combining to leave their mark on the soul of the island.
The Victoria International Arts Festival Foundation is a non-profit organisation which organises a full 5-week run of uninterrupted cultural activities. It is the organisation’s mission to organise and present these cultural events free of charge each year. The purpose behind this policy is two-fold, namely, (1) to encourage as much audience attendance as possible: despite producing concerts/activities of a very high standard, as is attested by the programmes presented and confirmed by patrons over the years, the focus is on accessibility and inclusivity. Providing cultural activity for free over an uninterrupted period of five weeks helps the organisers reach out to a wide spectrum of patrons and (2) it also enables the organisers to come to a very moderate financial agreement with participating artistes. This policy has earned the organisation the respect and admiration of both Maltese and foreign musicians who participate in the Festival.
Further details will be uploaded soon!!

The Italian sculptor and decorator Carlo Pisi (1897-1979) inspired a number of local church patrons and his works are found in prominent church places. His artistic oeuvre draws on the classical aesthetic. For instance, at St. George’s Church, he also made the main altar and modelled the bronze baldacchino that adorns it on the design of Bernini‘s in St.Peter‘s, Rome, though on a smaller scale.

The Winery – This the smallest winery on the Maltese islands, yet the only one that produces high quality wines made from grapes grown without the use of herbicides. All grapes are grown in its private terraced estate and are cultivated with care by the owner himself. Vine tending and harvesting are all manual. Their wines reflect the passion, care and love that they give to their vines. They have also obtained international awards for their wines such as the Bronze medal awarded to Tanit at the 36th edition of the Challenge International du Vin in Bordeux, France. Last February, the Tanit (white wine section) and the Manzara (rose wine section) have each been awared a Silver medal at the Catavinum World Wine and Spirits Competition 2017.
Between the 4th and the 29th April, you will be able to enjoy the “spiritual walk” which Amedeo Brogli would like to portray through his sacred art exhibition.
Amedeo Brogli was born in Lucania, in Palazzo San Cervazio (PZ), and lives and works in Rome.
He graduated as a Stage Designer at the Naples Academy of Fine Arts and started his professional activity in the world of art and show business. A painter and a stage designer, he became an assistant to Guttuso for his last large canvasses and the public paintings of Varese and Messina. He realized theatre sceneries and worked in movies sceneries. In Paris he worked for the Musée d’Orsay.
An intimist and lonely painter, he masters a sumptuous representational style that emphases the subject of the painting by brightening it up by strong chromatic harmonies. He has organized solo exhibitions in Rome at the Complesso del Vittoriano and S.Salvatore in Lauro, at the Estensi stables of Tivoli, and at the Columbus Centre of Toronto. A distinguished painter of religious art, he has illustrated the “Lauretane Litanies” published by Edizioni Vaticane, produced altar pieces, tapestries for canonization ceremonies, stained glass windows, mosaics and sculptures for churches and religious sites.
His paintings, portraits, drawings and etchings are sought after by collectors.
